Napoli-Bari Itinerary, section Frasso Telesino – Telese

Part of the Trans European Network (TEN-T) and included in the Scandinavian - Mediterranean Corridor, the Naples-Bari High Speed Railway requalification project is part of the "Unblock Italy" law. The Contract is the second lot of the Napoli-Bari railway line in which Ghella is involved.

The Frasso Telesino – Telese lot is the first of the two functional lots of the Frasso Telesino to Vitulano route. The project will cover the new railway headquarters including all related civil works, railways, electric traction and substations. It covers an overall length of 11.200 meters in variation of the original line. The lot includes the artificial tunnel Telese of 2.865 meters length; 7 viaducts covering overall 930 meters of the total length; a 312 meters overpass and the two new stations Amorosi and Telese.

Once complete, the travel time between Napoli and Bari will be decreased of 1h40m, taking only 2h. The Napoli - Bari transversal axe has a key role in the development of southern Italy: it will allow to reconnect two areas that alone reach more than 40% of the entire market production of Southern Italy. The new line will also drastically decrease CO2 emissions as well as transfer, within 2030, 30% of the mercantile transport from roads to trains reaching 50% by 2050.
