Tunnelling has started on Suburban Connect!

We’re excited to share that Suburban Connect’s first tunnel boring machine, TBM Aayushi, has successfully launched from Clarinda in Melbourne, Australia.

The launch of TBM Aayushi marks the start of excavation of Victoria's longest tunnels – 16 kilometres of twin tunnels between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley – that form the southern section of Suburban Rail Loop East.

This is an exciting achievement for everyone involved in delivering Suburban Rail Loop East and a proud moment for the Suburban Connect team!
