São Paulo Metro – Line 2 Green - Ponte Grande Station

São Paulo - Brazil

The station will be constructed underground through the excavation of a cavern from a central circular shaft. The shaft is being excavated using conventional methods, including the application of sprayed concrete (shotcrete) and rock bolting to stabilise the excavation walls. Once the base level is reached, excavation will continue laterally for approximately 50 metres on either side until the station cavern is fully formed, resulting in a total station length of
approximately 130 metres. Following completion of the TBM excavation works, the station’s permanent lining will be
installed, completing the structural works.
